The Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan has left thousands of individuals with no place to turn.

In the days after Taliban forces took control of Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul, thousands have attempted to flee the country.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, nearly 400,000 in Afghanistan have been forced from their homes since the beginning of the year.

Amid the Afghan refugee crisis, the government of Canada website has announced an initiative that aims at bringing immediate family members of Afghans to the country.

According to the new measures, priority  will be given to the following family members

  • Spouse, partner or dependent child (including adopted children)
  • Parents or grandparents
  • Orphaned relatives under the age of 18

In addition to that, if you are an Afghan national currently in Canada as a temporary worker, student or visitor, you can apply to extend your temporary resident status.

If you are an Afghan in Canada and would like us to help in settling you or your family , please contact us.
