A week has passed since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territories. It is estimated that 2000 civilians were killed till the moment. Reports tell of an increasing shortage of food,  fuel and basics of life, Up to 1.5 million people have fled the country so far. For the above reasons Immigration and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced today that the country is willing to receive an unlimited number of Ukrainians who wish to live in Canada on temporary or permanent basis and for this purpose  an Authorization for Emergency Travel for the Ukrainians nationals will be introduced. With such authorization, all Ukrainian citizens who chose to come to Canada will be able to apply for open  work permits  which means they will be able to work for any employer in Canada of their choice. In addition to that, IRCC will expedite the family sponsorship applications for Ukraninas. Moreover, Canada will permit unvaccinated Ukrainians to enter the country if they have a temporary resident visa, temporary resident permit, or written notice that their application for permanent residence in Canada was approved. As for the Ukranian nationals already in Canada, they can apply to extend their residence permit as a visitor, worker or student. Those of them who receive a job offer will be allowed to work while their application for a work permit is being processed.
